I've been developing an open source Android music player called Dhvani Music. It's built in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose and AndroidX Media3.
The main idea behind Dhvani is combining ad-free YouTube Music streaming with higher-quality sources (like JioSaavn up to 320kbps lossless) along with built-in audio utilities.
Main Features:
- Ad-free YouTube Music playback
- Dual-source audio streaming with on-the-fly quality switcher (YouTube Music 160kbps Opus / JioSaavn 320kbps)
- 10-band graphic equalizer, bass boost, and hardware Dolby Atmos integration
- Built-in Ringtone Trimmer (waveform editor with fade in/out, sets ringtone/notification/alarm directly)
- Alternative Song Versions sheet (find acoustic, slowed & reverb, nightcore, live, and instrumental versions in one tap)
- Landscape Ambient Cinema player mode
- Synced lyrics with multiple fallback providers and lyric focus view
- Offline music player and downloader with full metadata embedding
- Android Auto support, Listen Together rooms, and Discord Rich Presence
The project is completely free, has no trackers, and is licensed under GNU GPL v3.
