"NEVER PUT YOURSELF IN A POSITION WHERE YOU'LL HAVE TO APOLOGIZE FOR NOT BEING READY."
That quote lives in my chest every single day.
Because here's what I know to be true:
Europe has Mistral. America has OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta. China has DeepSeek.
These aren't companies building apps on top of someone else's technology.
They are building the technology itself.
And then I look at Africa.
The talent is here. The hunger is here. 180+ languages that global AI doesn't even understand are here. The problems worth solving — healthcare, agriculture, financial access — are here.
But if we're being brutally honest with ourselves… we are mostly building on top of other people's foundations. And the world is moving fast. Faster than we are comfortable admitting.
So what do we do about it?
We start.
Not tomorrow. Not when the funding arrives. Not when the infrastructure catches up.
We start together. All 54 of us.
That's what The Udara Project is.
An initiative by NSK AI, and right now it is becoming something that has never happened on this continent before.
We are attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest AI Class in Africa.
54 African countries. One moment.
Over 11,000 people have already registered. We are chasing 30,000.
300+ universities are already part of this.
And here is the part that matters most to me —
This is not just for tech people.
Are you studying Law? Medicine? Business? Arts? Education? Social Sciences? Engineering?
You are invited.
Because AI is not coming for one industry. It is coming for all of them. And Africa cannot afford to leave half its brain behind.
The lawyer who doesn't understand AI will lose to the one who does.
The doctor who ignores it will be outpaced by the one who embraces it.
The artist, the educator, the economist — none of us are exempt.
And none of us should be left out.
Here's what's happening:
📅 May 14 – 19 → The Record-Breaking AI Class
🛠️ May 20 – June 30 → The Hackathon — where we stop learning and start building
This is not a motivational event.
This is a mobilization.
When historians write about who built the intelligence layer of the 21st century, Africa will not be a footnote.
Not because we hoped.
But because 30,000 of us showed up.
Share this. Tag someone in all 54 countries who needs to see it. The time for apologizing is over.
Africa, it's our turn.
