The FSU Innovation Hub has added a new faculty line for an immersive media developer. Immersive media includes VR, AR, XR, and related technologies. The primary purpose of this position is to teach interdisciplinary courses in immersive media design and development and establish a New and Immersive Media Lab. After an initial semester of planning and development, your teaching load will ramp up to two courses in Fall and two in Spring with additional administrative responsibilities. Funding has been secured for lab equipment (VR Workstations) and student intern support.
The successful candidate will possess professional-level skills in Unity and/or Unreal development software and will have teaching and course development experience. Additional experience in other areas of new media design is a plus!
The Innovation Hub supports interdisciplinary innovation through Design Thinking and emerging technologies. We are seeking an experienced technician and educator with fresh ideas and energy that will be at home in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment. This position will be an integral part of Florida State University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystem, joining a highly collaborative team of accomplished professionals who provide consultations, technical expertise, project development, and infrastructure for cross-discipline innovative students.
