Alien Field Report: Why Extraterrestrials Are Pitying Humanity's Cloud PDF Obsession (and the WASM Cure)

If an extraterrestrial intelligence audited Earth’s software architecture today, they would conclude that human computer science peaked in 1995 and has been actively regressing ever since.

Consider the prevailing paradigm for document processing in 2026:

An engineer sits in front of a 16-core workstation with 32 gigabytes of unified memory. To remove a blank page from a vector document or sign an agreement, the standard procedure is:

  1. Serialize the document buffer over wide-area fiber optic cables.
  2. Route it to an AWS data center in Virginia.
  3. Pay an intermediary SaaS company $20 to $40 a month to execute a 15-millisecond binary operation on a remote EC2 instance.
  4. Download the resulting buffer back across the planet.

To an outside observer, this is not engineering; it is civilizational masochism.

So we built the technological cure: HandleMyFile.

The Extraterrestrial Fix: Eliminating Remote Compute via WASM

Human consumer hardware already contains sufficient floating-point capability to simulate galaxy clusters. Handing document manipulation over to third-party cloud infrastructure is an obsolete business model designed solely to justify subscription paywalls.

By compiling high-performance C++ and Rust manipulation engines into client-side WebAssembly (WASM), we completely eradicated the cloud server dependency.
