My 2025 Goals: Goals, aspirations, and plans

2024 was a transformative year of growth and learning for me. As I step into 2025, my focus shifts toward turning those lessons into actionable goals and doing things differently to achieve even greater results.

Before diving into my goals for this year, let’s reflect on the highlights and accomplishments of 2024.

Looking Back at 2024

Last year, I joined a fantastic community, DJangoLabs . This community pushed me to become a better developer and opened up opportunities I hadn’t imagined. While I didn’t achieve all my goals, I made significant progress, including giving two talks—an achievement I’m incredibly proud of:

These experiences boosted my confidence as a speaker and reinforced the idea that with belief and hard work, anything is possible.

Goals for 2025

This year, my goals focus on monetizing my skills, contributing to open-source, and building impactful projects. Here’s the roadmap:

Monetize My Skills

• Participate in hackathons to network and showcase my expertise.
• Write content about API development, share my knowledge, and drive traffic to my blog and portfolio.
• Pursue freelancing opportunities to build APIs and backend solutions for businesses.
• Apply for backend engineering roles to secure a full-time position.

Contribute to Open-Source

• Actively contribute to the CoLabsAPI project by DJangoLabs .
• Apply to speak at conferences or meetups about API development.

Build Real-World Projects

• Complete and deploy Collabsphere, an open-source real-time communication platform with advanced features like group chats, file sharing, and notifications.

My Plan to Achieve These Goals

Structured Planning

• Dedicate 5 hours daily to work on my goals while balancing them with full-time commitments.
• Use a project-based approach to apply everything I learn directly to real-world scenarios.

Sharing My Journey

• Publish regular updates, challenges, and insights on Dev.to, X (Twitter), and GitHub.
• Write at least two blogs per month, focusing on API development, real-time communication, and project case studies.
