Building brand ratings that can’t be bought by design

IndexFair publishes independent analytical ratings of consumer brands.

The interesting part is not the homepage — it’s the constraint set:

  • scores from public data and a published, versioned methodology
  • same rules for every brand
  • no featured tier
  • no star ratings
  • missing measurement lowers confidence instead of quietly filling the number

Most online rankings rearrange themselves around commercial incentives. We wanted the opposite: a structure where the method is inspectable, and money has nowhere to enter the ranking.
