If you often use a MacBook with an external mouse, you may have noticed that by default, macOS applies the same scroll direction setting to both the trackpad and the mouse. That means if you change the scroll direction on the trackpad, it also applies to the mouse, and vice versa. Sometimes, users prefer to have different scroll directions for each device—for example, natural scroll on the trackpad but traditional scroll on the mouse. Unfortunately, macOS does not provide an official way to configure this independently.
