A recruiter reached out about a Developer Advocate role they're hiring for. After chatting, we agreed I wasn't the right fit — but the role is genuinely interesting and I told them I'd share it with my network.
From them:
Founding DevRel role at Prismatic (embedded iPaaS, 50 employees, $34M raised). You'd own building their developer presence from scratch, with a heavy focus on Reddit and YouTube — not the typical conference circuit stuff.
What they actually want:
- 3+ years across dev work and developer advocacy
- Experience building engagement on Reddit and YouTube (not just "willing to learn")
- Coding chops to create sample projects and technical content
- Bonus: integration platform or customer-facing SaaS integration experience
Details:
- $160-180K base (up to $200K for the right person) + equity
- Fully remote, US-based only
- Reports to Director of Marketing
If you're already doing this work — creating dev content, active in communities, building things — and want to own a greenfield DevRel function, hit me up and I'll make the intro.
