Configuring an LED display with NovaLCT can look complicated at first, but the process is actually straightforward once you know the workflow.
Here is the simple process I use when setting up a new LED screen.
Step 1: Configure Your Graphics Card
Before opening NovaLCT:
Set Windows display scaling to 100%
Choose the correct resolution
Use Duplicate Mode for initial testing
This ensures the LED screen displays content pixel by pixel without stretching.
Step 2: Configure the Sending Card
Open NovaLCT and log in.
Then:
Select the video source (HDMI or DVI)
Set the output resolution
Match the refresh rate with your graphics card
Save the settings
A mismatch here is one of the most common reasons for display issues.
Step 3: Configure the Receiving Card
The easiest method is to load the RCFG file provided by your LED supplier.
No RCFG file?
Use the Read Back function to retrieve the existing configuration from the receiving card.
Step 4: Set Up Screen Connection
Finally:
Enter the number of rows and columns
Configure cabinet mapping
Send the data to hardware
Use Enable Mapping to verify the connection layout
Use Detect Communication Status to troubleshoot communication issues
Common Problems
NovaLCT cannot detect the sending card
Check USB or Ethernet connections
Reinstall drivers
Try another USB port
Some cabinets display incorrectly
Verify screen mapping
Check Ethernet cables
Confirm cabinet positions
Final Thoughts
Most LED screen setup problems can be solved by following these four steps:
Graphics card settings
Sending card configuration
Receiving card configuration
Screen connection
