Writing for Google is not writing for an AI answer. Fix the brief.

A keyword and a word count are enough to produce an article and not much else. When a buyer asks an AI assistant a question, the answer is built from sources it can cite and phrasing it can quote back, which a post written only to rank often has neither of.

I built BriefKit to turn a topic or a competitor URL into a content brief built for both search and AI answers.

30-second takeaway

  • A keyword tells you a topic; it does not tell you the questions people actually ask.
  • AI answers lean on citable sources and quotable hooks a plain outline rarely plans for.
  • The brief is the cheapest place to fix this, before a draft exists.

Why the keyword-alone brief falls short

Starting from a keyword pushes writers toward matching a phrase rather than answering a question. The result covers the term but skips the sub-questions, the authorities a reader expects cited, and the one clear sentence an engine could lift as an answer.

What changes when you plan for AI answers

A GEO-aware brief still needs a normal outline, but adds the questions people also ask, the sources worth citing, and an explicit answer hook near the top. None of this replaces reporting; it makes sure the finished piece has a shape that travels beyond a results page.

What the tool does

Give BriefKit a topic or a competitor URL and it drafts an SEO and GEO content brief: an outline with H2 and H3 structure, people-also-ask questions, sources to cite for authority, and a GEO answer hook for AI engines. The output is a writing plan you take away and build on. BriefKit hands you the structure; the firsthand value is still yours to add.

FAQ

Does it write the finished article for me?

No. It is a writing plan — an outline, target questions, sources, and an answer hook. Qualified human review applies: you still add firsthand value and do the actual writing.

What input does it need?

A topic or a competitor URL. From that it produces the structured brief.

Will the answer hook get me cited by an AI engine?

No. It is a drafting aid that gives an engine a clear sentence to work with; whether any answer cites you is not something a brief controls.

Author's Process

Built with AI coding tools. The value is the quick plan-then-write loop, not another dashboard.
