The rise of deepfakes also raises significant legal and ethical questions. While some countries have already enacted laws criminalizing the creation and distribution of malicious deepfakes, global consensus on how to handle these issues is still developing.

There are also concerns over privacy rights, with individuals at risk of having their likenesses used without consent. Deepfake creators can exploit publicly available data, raising serious concerns about the control people have over their own identities.
