Google and Kaggle hosted an INTENSIVE 5-day event that taught subscribers all about agentic systems.
I've been on parental leave for some months now, and as it has been hard and sometimes felt like it was absorbing all of me, I searched for ways to connect with work—I'm a product manager—while also staying current.
I found the subscription for this intensive course on my LinkedIn feed, as I follow various people from Google's AI, cloud, and other departments, so I signed up.
One of the nice things about this course was that it combined on-demand tasks and reading with vibrant live components like a Discord channel that was flooding with messages and questions from participants, plus daily live sessions with leading Google AI people.
For people with a messy daily schedule like parents of infants, the on demand tasks were perfect and the live sessions are published on youtube.
Some things that stood out to me:
The majority of participants—more than 75%—were from India. It always amazes me how inspired and driven people from India are. Also, very kind and polite. Their drive for their life and career is unparalleled.
The majority of participants were very young—in their 20s. Yes, younger people who don't have families tend to have more free time and capacity to join sessions like these. Still, aren't older people the ones most worried about the future of their jobs and careers? Younger people will have it easier; they can keep up with everything new that comes out every week nowadays.
The people from Google who work in their coolest departments (AI, cloud, etc.) seemed truly interested in sharing information with the world about what agentic systems are and how to successfully build them.
The learning journey was inspiring. I am encouraging you to participate now on demand, you will learn all these amazing concepts, and they guide you on how to actually deploy your very own agents, which is so fulfilling.
