As creators and indie builders, we kept running into the same problem:
music is always the last thing you think about — and the first thing that causes trouble.
Copyright strikes. Expensive licenses. Endless searches for “royalty-free” tracks that all sound the same.
So we built AutoMusic.ai — a simple AI music generator that turns text or lyrics into original, royalty-free music in seconds.
The problem we wanted to solve
If you build products, apps, games, or content, you probably know this pain:
You need background music, but licensing is confusing/Stock music sounds generic/Hiring a composer is expensive/You just want something good enough and safe to use
Music shouldn’t slow down shipping.
What AutoMusic.ai does
automusic.ai lets you generate music by typing what you want.
You can:
Turn lyrics into full songs/Generate instrumental background music/Describe a mood like “chill lo-fi for coding” or “upbeat indie pop”/Download tracks that are royalty-free, even for commercial use
No DAW. No plugins. No music theory.
If you’re curious, the product lives here.
Who it’s for
We designed AutoMusic.ai for people who build things:
Indie hackers shipping fast/Developers making apps, games, or demos/Creators posting videos or tutorials/Founders who just need music that won’t cause legal issues
It’s not trying to replace professional musicians.
It’s trying to remove friction.
What we learned building it
A few honest takeaways from building an AI music product:
“Royalty-free” matters way more than we expected/Most users care about speed over perfection/People want control, but not complexity/Music is often a utility, not the main product
We’ve been surprised by how many non-musicians are excited to create songs for the first time.
The limitations (being honest)
This isn’t magic.
Some tracks sound generic/It won’t replace professional composers/AI music still raises big questions around creativity and ethics/But for everyday use — demos, videos, prototypes — it works surprisingly well.
What’s next?We’re actively improving:
Better control over style and structure/More consistency across generations/Faster generation times
If you’re building something and need music, we’d love for you to try it and tell us what breaks.
