How I Built My Developer Portfolio with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

As a frontend developer, I wanted a place where I could showcase my projects, skills, and learning journey. That's why I decided to build my own portfolio website from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Instead of using templates or website builders, I wanted complete control over the design, responsiveness, and performance. Building it from scratch also helped me strengthen my frontend fundamentals.

What I Focused On

  • Clean and modern UI
  • Fully responsive design
  • Better performance
  • SEO best practices
  • Simple and user-friendly experience

Although I work with modern technologies like React and Next.js, I chose HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for this portfolio because I wanted to build a lightweight and fast website while keeping full control over every component.

Challenges

The biggest challenge was making the website look good on every screen size while maintaining good performance and SEO. I spent a lot of time refining the layout, optimizing images, and improving the overall user experience.

What I Learned

This project taught me that building a website is only part of the journey. Performance, accessibility, SEO, and continuous improvement are equally important.
