GitHub contribution graphs as pixel art: a small browser project

I built GitPixelPush to turn a GitHub contribution calendar into a drawing canvas. It is a creative experiment: the generated activity is clearly labeled artwork.

What you can try

Open the demo canvas, sketch a pattern, stamp text, or use a preset. The preview shows the planned dates and commit count before you decide to connect GitHub and push.

Publishing creates backdated empty commits in a repository you choose. The commit labels and repository README disclose their purpose. These squares do not represent software development or prove anyone’s productivity.

The permission tradeoff

GitHub authorization deserves attention even for a playful tool. Public canvases use public-repository access; private canvases require a broader scope. The website explains this before the private option is used. You can revoke access through GitHub settings.

Feedback I’m looking for

Would a live preview plus explicit disclosure make this a fun profile customization tool for you? Or would you prefer exporting the drawing as an image without changing your contribution calendar?
