Devlog: gimmick arenas and game-feel juice

Following up on my last post about Chaos Football Club β€” here's a bit on two things that make it feel chaotic in a good way: the arenas and the juice.

Gimmick arenas

Beyond a normal pitch, matches can drop you into arenas with real hardware: pinball bumpers that fling the ball, portal parks that warp it across the field, and piston bays that shove players around. Each one is its own little physics puzzle layered on top of the core football loop.

Game feel

Most of the fun is in the juice β€” screen shake, hit-stop, chunky cartoon VFX and a touch of slow-mo on the big moments. It's the difference between "a ball moved" and "OH that was a SUPER SHOT".

Tech

TypeScript and three.js for rendering, 2D Rapier for physics, and procedural props built from primitives on a candy palette β€” so it stays light and loads fast in the browser.
