⚠️ Region Alert: UAE/Middle East
Cybersecurity researchers have observed a significant surge in retaliatory hacktivist activity throughout the Middle East following recent military escalations. A report by Radware highlights that groups such as Keymous+, DieNet, and Hider Nex are responsible for the majority of these attacks, primarily utilizing large-scale DDoS campaigns and hack-and-leak strategies. These operations have disproportionately targeted government, finance, and telecommunications sectors in Kuwait, Israel, and Jordan.
Furthermore, Iranian state-sponsored actors, including the IRGC and UNC1549, are intensifying efforts against critical infrastructure, with confirmed targeting of energy sectors and data centers in the U.A.E. and Saudi Arabia. Defense experts warn of evolving tradecraft that blends traditional espionage with destructive ransomware and mobile surveillance malware, urging organizations to prioritize network segmentation between information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) to mitigate risks.
