⚠️ Region Alert: UAE/Middle East
Amazon has confirmed that three Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and one in Bahrain were damaged by drone strikes, leading to widespread outages. The attacks are suspected to be linked to ongoing regional tensions and have caused significant physical damage, power delivery issues, and water damage from fire suppression systems in the ME-CENTRAL-1 and ME-SOUTH-1 regions.
Amazon is currently prioritizing the restoration of physical infrastructure and developing software-based recovery paths to bypass the most damaged facilities. Impacted organizations are urged to activate their disaster recovery plans, utilize remote backups, and migrate workloads to unaffected regions in the United States, Europe, or Asia Pacific to maintain business continuity.
