Disclosure: prepared for MEMITO as an educational case study. This is not an independent security review.
A token name is not a unique identifier. A useful verification process starts with the network and full contract address, then separates information supplied by the project from evidence visible in transactions or contract code.
Start with an exact identifier
The researched MEMITO documents identify Ethereum mainnet, chain ID 1, and this token contract:
0xe02AD79732658a2ec2C85Ecd15De5E08A311373C
Compare the full address in the project's Verify section with the address on Etherscan. Do not accept a matching symbol or a few matching characters as a substitute. A website badge or a screenshot also cannot establish that the page currently open is the intended contract.
Separate metadata from executable code
The researched Etherscan result identifies MEMITO COIN, 18 decimals and an original supply of 420,690,000,000,000. It also indicates verified source code. An overview paragraph may contain project-provided descriptions, so it should not be treated as Etherscan independently endorsing every claim in that paragraph.
Verified source makes code available for inspection. It does not establish the existence of an independent audit, absence of vulnerabilities or suitability as an investment. An ownership-renunciation claim likewise needs to be read in the context of the actual contract and its functions.
Ask a time-specific balance question
“Received zero at launch” and “holds zero now” are different statements. MEMITO's FAQ describes a later purchase by the deploying wallet. A reviewer checking current holdings should identify the correct address and current chain state, not reuse an old zero-balance sentence.
Inspect receipts, not just the website counter
For a purchase, inspect transaction status and the relevant token transfers. A token transfer receipt does not establish that an exchange market is open, that liquidity is sufficient or that tokens can be sold at a planned price. The researched MEMITO documents state that trading has not opened.
A practical evidence note should record the checked address, time and exact claim. Keep dynamic balances separate from static project specifications.
Risk: crypto is high risk; some or all funds may be lost. This checklist does not certify the token's security or future value.
