NOBLE: a HUD terminal workspace for AI coding agents, written in Rust

I work with AI coding agents all day, and my terminal setup was a mess: one window per project, another for git status, a browser tab to check how much of my 5-hour Claude quota was left, and a system monitor somewhere else. So I built NOBLE, a single native binary that puts all of it in one cockpit inside your terminal.

What it does

  • Real terminals: tabs, splits, zoom and scrollback search. ConPTY on Windows, a PTY on Linux and macOS. PowerShell, cmd, bash, zsh and fish work. vim, htop and Claude Code run full-screen.
  • Projects at a glance: it finds your git repos and shows branch, changes, commits to push/pull and recent commits. Pick one, press enter, and a shell opens right in it.
  • AI quota and sessions: 5-hour and weekly limits for Claude Code, Codex and more, read from the CLIs you are already logged into. It also shows which agent is waiting for your turn.
  • Quick launch: start Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Copilot, Cursor, Cline and others in the selected project with one key.
  • System monitor: CPU, memory, network, disks, battery and a sortable process table.
  • 22 themes, a command palette, and everything is clickable.

Light by design

NOBLE uses about 22 MB of RAM. There is no fixed frame rate: it only redraws when something visible changes, so an idle terminal tab costs about 0.05% of one core.

Built with Rust and ratatui

Windows, Linux and macOS are treated as equal platforms. Tokens only go to their own provider and are never shown or logged.

Try it

cargo install noble
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode

Or grab a prebuilt binary (Windows, macOS, Linux) from the releases page.

It is free and MIT licensed. Stars, issues and feedback are very welcome!
