Hey folks 👋
I’ve finally launched my personal portfolio – matheen.dev
and I’m putting it out here for the developer community’s honest feedback.

Overall the theme and design is unique. I have few suggestion. If you could put up some games like solitaire or pac man (just for fun) so that the person who is visiting your site stays a bit longer.
Also when a new window opens there should be an option to maximize that window for more visual and clarity.
These are just a suggestion from my point of view. Overall the portfolio looks good.
Thank you so much for the suggestions. Am currently working on the minimize function. Am trying to make the window function just like a real window in Windows OS.
Initially I created this for to get a job. But now am adding more creative stuff to it because this creativity is the last spark I have.
Once I have added both minimize and maximize, I will update in this same comment thread. Kindly do check the update.
I will be waiting for the update.
I have added minimize and maximize functionality 👍
Will post an update on dynamic responsiveness and as you said, I will try to add some games.
Its looks good to me ..... just to inform you there is some lags while minimizing the screen. Rest looks awesome.
Yeah, I have to work on the background blur. Its causing too much lag.
Yeah, but happy to see you have upgraded it.
Awesome! I'm curious if you actually got the job, I saw something similar a few years ago of a guy showing his CV in a creative way like yours. Good work!
P.D. I would also love to check if in the future you add some classic games like minesweeper or something like that 🫣
Thank you 🙂.
I have applied for jobs in several companies but I haven't got a job offer yet.
Regarding the classic games, am researching on how to implement it.
First game I will try to add minesweeper.
I have added Minesweeper and Classic Snake games 👍
You cooked 😎
Just make sure to highlight those games on the dashboard as well. The reason I suggested this is that you can demonstrate you are able to understand the algorithms behind them, and this can be useful to point out in your interviews. Well done there!
Sure, will do 👍
Hey,
That's an impressive, creative way for showcasing a personal portfolio. I love the way you reassembled the Windows 7 look and feel.
If you would like to continue polishing this, I would suggest you try to make a dark mode theme. I remember it was always fun to tweak Win 7 into new appearances. What do you think?
Sure. I will add dark mode theme.
OMG! It's amazing.
Thank you 🙂
Working on this portfolio gave me a radical idea. Am going to create a new project for project management with powerful management capabilities.
Thank you everyone for amazing suggestions and feedback 😊.
This is really creative, a bit laggy though, apart from that, great job!
Thank you so much 🙂
You're very welcome.
There's an open-source CSS framework for Windows 7 UI if you want to make it even better.
Thank you for suggesting.
I saw this framework earlier. But I prefer to learn, understand and design most of the things on my own, just for my own satisfaction. With all the things am going through lately, its kind of making my own identity.
New Update !
Added Minesweeper game.
Though I used ChatGPT to reduce time, I've learned a lot.
I love the way how you have articulated your skills and build the app.
Thank you so much 🙂
This is the coolest portfolio I’ve seen in a long time! Wish there were actual visuals of the finished products of the things you built though. Other than that I like it
Thank you 🙂. Most of the projects I have built are intellectual properties of my clients. Unfortunately I can't share it in public portfolio. Only public project I have built is Zorin Bytes, its a blog that I have built using Astro. I have tried several Linux distributions and for Zorin I thought it needs some recognition.
I have included the Zorin Bytes link in the start menu itself. In future, I will add public or open source projects in the start menu itself.
It looks. good
Thank you 🙂
Found a bug... The close/minimize button is not displaying after maximizing the skill window.
I have fixed the window controls issue during maximize. Also I have updated the design with charts. Thank you so much for finding the bug.
I found the issue, will fix it.
Thank you for taking time to find the bug .. 🙂👍
it's really nice!
it's interesting to explore your portfolio this way. great work 🙌
Thank you so much 🙂
Congrats on launching it! I really appreciate that you made the code open, curious - what was the hardest part for you building it?
Thank you 🙂
The hardest part was trying to make the windows behave almost like the windows in Windows 7. And am still trying to make minimize and resizing work. Eventually it can be achieved but am making sure it doesn't consume more memory or lag too much.
Back to my og days of windows 7
that is an amazing portfolio!
Thank you so much 🙂
Thank you so much 🙂.
Performance improvements are still in pipeline. Am going to make the components even more dynamic so that resource consumption will be optimized.
it does look a lot like an hypervisor,...an OS
I haven't seen hypervisor OS. Glad it creates a feel like that.
it does have a virtual machine vibe
not expected (the way it works is just windows 7 ) the ui perfectly matches
Thank you so much 🙂
Awesome! Well done!
Thank you 🙂
Thats a very cool presentation of your skills and experience. Well done.
Thank you so much 🙂.
Very cool, props for putting it out there and sticking with your creative spark
Thank you so much 🙂
Really Creative.
Thank you 🙂
I just went throught the portfolio and I must say that it is really creative. Greatjob man!
Thank you so much 🙂
