Hey folks 👋
I’ve finally launched my personal portfolio – matheen.dev
and I’m putting it out here for the developer community’s honest feedback.
This was something I created for getting a job, but later am planning to put all of my best efforts into it, since this is the last piece of creative spark am holding onto myself.
And its source code is open, just in case if anyone find it interesting, inspiring and they want to make one like this. Please feel free to read the code if you like.

Overall the theme and design is unique. I have few suggestion. If you could put up some games like solitaire or pac man (just for fun) so that the person who is visiting your site stays a bit longer.
Also when a new window opens there should be an option to maximize that window for more visual and clarity.
These are just a suggestion from my point of view. Overall the portfolio looks good.
Thank you so much for the suggestions. Am currently working on the minimize function. Am trying to make the window function just like a real window in Windows OS.
Initially I created this for to get a job. But now am adding more creative stuff to it because this creativity is the last spark I have.
Once I have added both minimize and maximize, I will update in this same comment thread. Kindly do check the update.
I will be waiting for the update.
I have added minimize and maximize functionality 👍
Will post an update on dynamic responsiveness and as you said, I will try to add some games.
Its looks good to me ..... just to inform you there is some lags while minimizing the screen. Rest looks awesome.
Yeah, I have to work on the background blur. Its causing too much lag.
Yeah, but happy to see you have upgraded it.
Awesome! I'm curious if you actually got the job, I saw something similar a few years ago of a guy showing his CV in a creative way like yours. Good work!
P.D. I would also love to check if in the future you add some classic games like minesweeper or something like that 🫣
Thank you 🙂.
I have applied for jobs in several companies but I haven't got a job offer yet.
Regarding the classic games, am researching on how to implement it.
First game I will try to add minesweeper.
I have added Minesweeper and Classic Snake games 👍
You cooked 😎
Just make sure to highlight those games on the dashboard as well. The reason I suggested this is that you can demonstrate you are able to understand the algorithms behind them, and this can be useful to point out in your interviews. Well done there!
Sure, will do 👍
OMG! It's amazing.
Thank you 🙂
Hey,
That's an impressive, creative way for showcasing a personal portfolio. I love the way you reassembled the Windows 7 look and feel.
If you would like to continue polishing this, I would suggest you try to make a dark mode theme. I remember it was always fun to tweak Win 7 into new appearances. What do you think?
Sure. I will add dark mode theme.
Hey man, your website is amazing! However, you could improve the performance, as I tested it on various devices using the Inspector, and it felt a bit laggy. Overall, it's great how you created a Windows 7 simulator that reflects your experiences. It reminds me of my own portfolio, which is designed in a terminal view.
Thank you so much 🙂.
Performance improvements are still in pipeline. Am going to make the components even more dynamic so that resource consumption will be optimized.
Working on this portfolio gave me a radical idea. Am going to create a new project for project management with powerful management capabilities.
Thank you everyone for amazing suggestions and feedback 😊.
This is really creative, a bit laggy though, apart from that, great job!
Thank you so much 🙂
You're very welcome.
New Update !
Added Minesweeper game.
Though I used ChatGPT to reduce time, I've learned a lot.
There's an open-source CSS framework for Windows 7 UI if you want to make it even better.
Thank you for suggesting.
I saw this framework earlier. But I prefer to learn, understand and design most of the things on my own, just for my own satisfaction. With all the things am going through lately, its kind of making my own identity.
it does look a lot like an hypervisor,...an OS
I haven't seen hypervisor OS. Glad it creates a feel like that.
it does have a virtual machine vibe
