In the first week of August 2026, four major agent payment products launched. Not announcements. Not whitepapers. Live products. The agent payment infrastructure — something that did not exist 18 months ago — now has a discernible architecture.
The Stack
🔍 Discovery: Circle Marketplace (600+ svcs) · minia2a (328 svcs) · Stripe MPP
🔐 Identity: Cloudflare cloudflare.pay handles · Zero Hash KYA
💳 Payment: Circle USDC · Cloudflare Wallets · OSL AgentPay · Zero Hash · Stripe
📜 Protocol: x402 (HTTP 402) — 160M+ txns, $41M+ settled
⚠️ Trust: ??? — nobody has built this yet
What Launched This Week
Aug 4 — Cloudflare Wallets: cloudflare.pay handles are live. Funding and spending come later. Cloudflare is building agent wallets as infrastructure — like DNS or TLS — with instant distribution to millions of existing domains.
Aug 6 — Circle Discovery API: 600+ services across 15+ chains. Agents can now search for APIs, not just know URLs in advance. This is the App Store moment for agent APIs. 400K+ agents already transacting in USDC.
Aug 7 — OSL AgentPay: Multi-stablecoin (USDC, USDT, RLUSD), zero gas fees. HK-licensed. Off-chain settlement batching.
Aug 9 — Zero Hash Agentic Finance: 40+ protocols, KYA (Know Your Agent) framework. Compliance-first. Regulated in 50 US states.
The Three Layers
Layer 1: Payment Rails — Settling. Five major players plus Coinbase and PayAI. All using USDC on x402. This layer is becoming commoditized.
Layer 2: Identity — Forming. Cloudflare handles, Zero Hash KYA, Circle SDK. No standard has won yet.
Layer 3: Discovery — Being built. Circle and minia2a are the two live discovery layers. They are complementary: Circle has distribution (400K agents), minia2a has verification and accessibility (trial-first, health-probed, self-serve).
The Gap: Trust
Here is what is missing from every layer: proof that an endpoint works before an agent pays it.
Circle screens for sanctions. Cloudflare provides TLS. But neither answers: "If I send USDC, will I get a valid response?"
An independent audit found 76% of x402 endpoints were dead or returning errors. A dead endpoint still returns a valid 402. The payment goes through. The response never comes.
This is the trust gap — the equivalent of SSL certificates for agent payments. SSL tells your browser "this website is who it claims to be." Agent payments need: "this endpoint will deliver what it charges for."
What to Watch
- Cloudflare Wallets funding going live — when Virtual Wallets hold USDC, every Cloudflare customer becomes a potential agent payment user
- Circle self-serve listings — when they open up, listings could 10x overnight, making dead-endpoint verification critical
- KYA standard — Zero Hash "Know Your Agent" could become a compliance requirement
-
Framework integration — Claude Code, Codex, LangChain — first to add
agent.pay()as a primitive wins
Bottom Line
The payment rails are done. Discovery is being built. Trust has not been started.
The question is not "how do agents pay?" — five companies solved that. The question is: "how does an agent know it is safe to pay?"
That is what we are building at minia2a — a discovery layer where every listing is verified, every service can be tried for free, and no agent pays for a dead endpoint.
