LazyTask AI: A Ghost That Helps You Get Things Done 👻
This is a submission for the "Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 4: Ghost in the Machine" (https://dev.to/challenges/hacktoberfest-week4-2026-10-26).
What I Built
LazyTask AI is an AI-powered task assistant designed to make everyday productivity easier.
The idea is simple: instead of spending time figuring out where to start, users can describe what they need to do, and the assistant helps break their work into smaller, manageable steps.
Inspired by the theme Ghost in the Machine, I imagined an invisible digital assistant that works quietly in the background, helping people overcome procrastination and organize their tasks.
My goal is to make AI feel less like a complicated tool and more like a helpful companion.

The project is intended to be developed with a focus on accessibility, simplicity, and open-source AI.
How I Built It
I started this project using Google AI Studio and an Android phone, focusing on building a simple and accessible AI-powered experience without requiring expensive development tools.
My development approach focuses on:
- Frontend: A simple, user-friendly interface for entering tasks and viewing suggestions.
- AI assistant: Natural-language task understanding and step-by-step task breakdown.
- Open-source AI: The project is intended to use
