What is passkey?

Passkeys work on straightforward identity verifications, like fingerprint scans, facial recognition, PIN, or swipe patterns. A dedicated blog on passkeys talks about their basics, benefits, working, and configuration. For more than 50 years, the core of digital identity and security has been traditional authentication that uses a login ID and password to authenticate a specific user. However, since the number of user accounts proliferated in the internet-driven world, new security complications have arisen, including the need for users to remember numerous passwords and—most importantly—the security risks provided by stolen or otherwise compromised credentials.
