How I Went From Learning C# to Building Full-Stack Applications With .NET and React

Introduction

2 years ago, i was completely lost, I wanted to become a developer, but with so many programming languages, frameworks, and technologies available, it was hard for me to focus on one thing.

At the end i decided to become a full-stack web developer, focusing on .NET for the backend and React, Next.js for the frontend.

So today im going to share with u my journey from zero to a full stack web dev.

Starting With Programming fundamentals
I started by learning programming fundamentals and spending a lot of time with C++. Solving programming problems taught me that programming isn't about memorizing syntax. It's about learning how to break a problem into smaller pieces and find a solution.

by solving a lot of problems i started to improve my logic and the way of thinking and solving problems with good solutions.

C# and .NET
Since i understood how things works moving From C++ to C# was the easiest thing ever, after that I started working with ASP.NET Core and building APIs.
This introduced me to concepts like:

REST APIs,Dependency Injection Authentication and JWT Entity Framework Core, LINQ ...ect

Then I starte learning about architecture, databases, authentication, and everything else in backend development.

React
After focusing heavily on backend development, I Also wanted to understand the frontend.

So of course i started with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
after that learning React, followed by Next.js and Tailwind CSS.

React changed the way i think in Frontend dev . Instead of building one huge page, I can break the interface into reusable components.

Combining React with .NET allowed me to build applications from both sides the user interface and the backend.

Building Projects
I started building Projects Using ASP.NET Core in Backend, React And Next.js in frontend

Building projects taught me much more things than simply following tutorials.
There are problems that u don't experience when you are only following a course.

What I Learned
The biggest lesson I've learned is that building is different from watching tutorials.

A tutorial is just to show u how things works. A project forces you to make decisions, find solutions, make mistakes, and fix them by your hands.

What's Next?

I'm still learning and improving as a full-stack developer.

My next goal is to combine my existing experience with artificial intelligence and explore how AI can be integrated into real-world applications.

Resources

If you're starting your own programming journey, interactive platforms can make learning much easier. i have been using "Scrimba" as part of my learning journey, and it's a useful platform for learning by actually writing code.
