What I Built
Ledgerly is a privacy-first expense and document dashboard for freelancers, creators, and small side hustles. It helps people organize receipts and invoices, understand monthly spending, and keep their financial paperwork in one calm workspace.
The product is aimed at independent workers who are too small for complex accounting software but need more structure than a folder full of receipts. Potential customers would pay for document organization, expense visibility, and an AI-assisted workflow that keeps sensitive financial information under their control.

How I Built It
Ledgerly was built as a responsive Next.js dashboard with a focused, privacy-forward interface. The main experience includes expense summaries, a monthly spending chart, recent documents, open-source AI positioning, and an “Add document” flow for uploading receipts and invoices.
The app is designed around the idea that AI should assist with document organization and expense understanding without requiring users to hand their financial data to a closed platform. The current version is a polished product prototype, with the core dashboard and upload interaction in place.
Why Does Open Innovation Matter?
Financial documents are sensitive, so users should have more choices than sending everything to a proprietary AI service. Open innovation makes it possible to build transparent, adaptable tools that can run with open-weight models, be audited by the community, and be deployed in ways that better respect user privacy.
It also lowers the barrier for small builders. A side-hustle founder can combine open frameworks, models, and community-built tooling into a focused product without needing to recreate an entire AI platform from scratch.
My First User
I built the first version around the needs of independent workers who want a simple way to stay on top of receipts, invoices, and spending. The current submission is a product prototype; I am looking for early users to test the workflow and help shape the next version.
