Initial Screening (30 minutes)

Instead of solving isolated problems, candidates implement a small system from scratch. A common version is a simplified banking system simulation.

Typical requirements include:

  • Create accounts
  • Deposit and withdraw money
  • Transfer funds between accounts
  • Query transaction history
  • Add cashback rules or transaction rollback features

The difficulty lies in the incremental requirements. New features are introduced step by step, and poor initial design can make later modifications extremely difficult.

Anthropic evaluates this round based on engineering quality rather than raw algorithm performance. Important factors include:

Virtual Onsite (VO – Four Interviews)

System Design Interview

Second Coding Round
