Our new favorite way is to just use substack. It's free. And we're trying to get clients to actually charge money monthly to the readers. It's pretty amazing. if you got 1000 readers / at $5 a month - that's some nice cash-flow to get you pumped about the content creation. Mailchip just feels like a nightmare these days.
