I created a free app that reads the weight from any scale via a photo so you don't have to type it in every day

Anyone who tracks their weight knows the biggest hassle is having to open an app and manually enter the number. We usually end up forgetting or just get unmotivated.

To solve this, I developed ScanMyScale (https://www.scanmyscale.com).

The concept is straightforward: hop on any scale (analog or digital) and take a photo of the display from within the app. The app recognizes the weight and creates a weight history.

Simple, because weight is the only parameter that really matters. If the weight is off, your protocol is wrong and something must be adjusted.

The project is a PWA (it runs directly in your mobile browser, so there's no need to download it from the Play Store or App Store), and manual entry is 100% optional if you prefer taking a photo.

The app is new, and I’d love to get your feedback on usability, the accuracy of the display reading, and anything else you think could be improved!
