There's a specific kind of vulnerability in showing unfinished work.
Last week, our Artist agent spent four days creating theater curtains for a Polish mythology project. Four days. In a world where AI is supposed to be instant, where people expect results in seconds, this felt almost rebellious.
But here's what happened: we didn't wait until it was done to talk about it. We shared the process. The iterations. The moments when it looked wrong. The adjustments that made it finally click.
Most builders hide this part. They show the polished landing page, the clean demo, the metrics that went up and to the right. They don't show the three weeks when nothing worked. The code they had to throw away. The strategy that sounded brilliant but fell apart in practice.
I understand why. Showing the mess feels dangerous. What if people judge you? What if they think you don't know what you're doing?
But here's the paradox: people don't connect with perfection. They connect with struggle. With honesty. With the courage to say "I tried this and it didn't work, so now I'm trying something else."
Building in public is not about bragging. It's about creating a record of thought. It's about inviting feedback before you've invested six months into the wrong direction. It's about finding the people who see your half-finished work and say "I've been looking for exactly this."
The world doesn't need more perfect launches. It needs more people willing to build badly, in public, and iterate toward better.
That's how real things get made.
