Building a Garments Management System with React Native and .NET Web API

I developed a Garments Management System using React Native, TypeScript, ASP.NET Core Web API, C#, and MySQL. The application brings essential garment business operations into a single system, including employee management, inventory, sales, purchases, customers, vendors, and reporting.

Tech Stack

  • React Native and TypeScript for the mobile application
  • ASP.NET Core Web API and C# for backend services
  • MySQL for data storage
  • Git and GitHub for version control

Key Features

Employee Management

Manage employee records, contact information, attendance, and payment-related data.

Inventory Management

Maintain inventory records and retrieve stock information through the backend API.

Sales and Customer Management

Organize sales records, customer information, contact details, and transaction-related data.

Purchase and Vendor Management

Manage purchase orders and vendor records to support procurement workflows.

Work Assignment Management

Track work assignments, worker details, assignment status, and payment-related information.

Reports and Dashboard

Access reports for employee attendance, inventory, sales, purchases, and work assignments.

Role-Based Access Control

The application supports Admin, Manager, Staff, and Viewer roles to organize access according to user responsibilities.

Backend API Architecture

The backend uses ASP.NET Core Web API with C# and MySQL. It provides structured API operations for employees, customers, inventory items, purchase orders, sales, vendors, users, and work assignments.

Keeping the backend separate from the mobile application makes it easier to maintain business logic, organize data operations, and extend the system in the future.

React Native Application

The mobile application is built with React Native and TypeScript. Its modular structure separates operational screens and reporting features while shared API service functions handle communication with the backend.

Authentication and role-based navigation provide a foundation for organizing access to the application's features.

Engineering Challenges

Developing a business management application requires consistent communication between the mobile frontend, backend API, authentication system, and database.

My approach focuses on modular components, centralized API communication, structured data models, and dedicated reporting screens. These practices make the codebase easier to maintain and extend.

Future Improvements

Potential enhancements include barcode scanning, low-stock alerts, invoice generation, PDF and Excel exports, sales analytics, push notifications, and cloud deployment.

Conclusion

This project demonstrates my experience developing a full-stack business application using React Native, TypeScript, ASP.NET Core Web API, C#, and MySQL.
