Hey everyone 👋
I’ve been using Redis-over-HTTP for serverless apps a lot, and honestly, it’s amazing. But recently I ran into a situation that got me thinking: what if the Redis instance already exists on a client VPS, and you still want the same HTTP/serverless-friendly behavior that services like Upstash provide?
How would you usually handle that in real projects? Proxy it, wrap it, accept the TCP hassle, or something else entirely?
I actually have an idea around this, so I started a small discussion on GitHub and would love to hear different perspectives, trade-offs, or even “nah that’s dumb because X”: https://github.com/redenv-labs/redion/discussions/1
Curious to hear what you all think 😄
