Tabs can be dragged. Drag a tab to reorder it, or drop it on the other panel's tab bar to move it there. A line shows where it will land. Tabs survive a restart. The open tabs of both panels, and which one was active, are remembered, so File Labs reopens in the folder you left it in. Switching tabs is instant — from about 1.2 seconds to under 20 ms. Folders you've visited are kept in memory and painted immediately while being re-read in the background, and the list no longer scrolls itself into place when there's nothing to scroll to. Sidebar and tab icons are fetched in the background, which alone could take most of a second on a network drive.
