PDK Joins Puppet Core
Puppet Core is a hardened, enterprise-ready platform built on Open Source Puppet. It offers organisations the power of the Puppet ecosystem with added benefits, such as access to security and bug fix requests.
What does this mean for you?
To access the latest updates and features in PDK, including this release, you'll need either a valid Puppet Core license or a signed Developer EULA. Downloads for PDK 3.5.0 are available to Puppet Core users only.
What's New in PDK 3.5.0
New Platform Support
You can now install PDK on the following OS versions:
- macOS 14
- Fedora 40
- Red Hat 9 (AARCH64)
- Ubuntu 24.04
Deprecations & Removals
Support has been removed for:
- macOS 11
- macOS 12
- SLES 12
Additionally:
- Ruby 2.7 and Puppet 7 are no longer supported.
- Installation via Homebrew and Chocolatey is not available in this release. You can still install directly on macOS and Windows.
Other Changes
This release includes updates to bundled components (Ruby, Git, Curl), dependency clean-up, template adjustments, and several minor bug fixes.
