qrcodeq - Generate, test and print QR codes that actually scan
Over the years, I've created countless QR codes for websites, PDFs, event materials, business cards, and product packaging.
The problem wasn't generating a QR code.
The problem was making sure it actually worked once it left the screen.
Many QR tools focus on customization, analytics, or subscriptions. But when you're preparing something for print, you often end up asking a few simple questions:
- Is the QR code large enough?
- Will it scan after being printed?
- Is the contrast good enough?
- Will it still work on different devices?
I wanted a tool that focused on these practical questions rather than adding more complexity.
That's why I built qrcodeq.
The goal is simple: generate, test, and export QR codes that are ready for real-world use.
With qrcodeq, you can create QR codes directly in your browser, test them before exporting, and download print-ready formats such as PNG, SVG, and PDF. There are no signups, no unnecessary steps, and no tracking redirects between your users and their destination.
You can try it here: https://qrcodeq.com
One thing I learned while building this project is that QR codes are deceptively simple. Creating one takes seconds, but creating one that consistently scans across different devices, print sizes, and environments requires much more attention to detail.
The project is still evolving, and I'm continuously adding new generators and improving the workflow based on real-world usage.
If you've ever had a QR code fail on a printed poster, flyer, menu, or business card, I'd love to hear your experience and feedback.
