I'm Rakshitha, a 5th-semester Computer Science Engineering student at PES University. This October, I've decided to stop just reading about open source and actually start contributing.
Why I'm doing this
I use open source tools every day, like VS Code and Linux, but I never knew how people actually contribute to them.
What I know so far
- A fork is my own copy of someone else's project
- A commit saves a snapshot of my changes
- Pushing uploads my changes to GitHub
- A pull request (PR) asks the project to accept my changes
What I'm comfortable with
Python, C++, SQL, HTML, CSS, React, and Node.js. I'm especially keen to find projects in web development (React/Node) or Python or in networks.
