Tabnine is the AI coding assistant for teams that want privacy and IP indemnification over raw model quality — self-hosted deployment, code that never leaves your network, and guarantees built around permissively-licensed training data. That positioning comes at $39/user/month for Code Assistant, $59/user/month for Agentic (autonomous agents, MCP tools, CLI, custom model training on your own codebase).

Two things worth knowing before you budget it:

The self-hosted option isn't actually $39/seat. That price covers the license. Running the models yourself means GPU-capable infrastructure on top — realistically $500-2,000+/month in cloud GPU costs for a small team, scaling to a multi-node cluster for a larger one. For a 20-50 person team, think $1,000-3,000/month in infra alone, before the per-seat fee. None of that shows up on the pricing page.

There's no multi-file editing. If you're coming from Cursor's Composer or Copilot's Edits and expect to describe a cross-file refactor and have it applied, Tabnine doesn't do that — it's completions and chat, not agentic editing (Agentic tier aside, which adds autonomous task execution but is a different thing). And there's no free tier anymore; Tabnine retired it in 2024, so you're paying from day one.

Worth flagging if you're evaluating Tabnine specifically: the company was acquired by Tricentis in July 2026 and is being folded into an enterprise quality-engineering platform — a pivot away from the individual-developer market this pricing page is written for. That's context worth having before you commit a budget line to it.
