I have made an android dialer app from scratch. I made this app using google AI studio. But, I have invested so much time, effort, testing and refinements in it.
The Backstory
First, as I am not from android development background, but was looking for a light weight, fast and privacy oriented, secure dialer, I keep searching for a good one that fits my requirement but didn't find one.
There are other open source dialer apps like fossify dialer, rivo dialer, ever dialer, nova dial etc. Everyone of them is good enough and has their own features and use case.
What I tried to make is, a dialer, fully functional, secure, fast and lightweight. What my dialer brings to you is, simplicity with modern Material 3 and Material 3 expressive in your privacy app.
My app not only works flawlessly on your main phone but also on the old phone we all have at our home and some other which we don't want to replace.
I may or may not be the first person to successfully built a fully functional app using AI. But, I promise, once you start using it or any developer will look at its files and codes, you will like it a lot and understand my effort and love behind creating it.
My app is simple for old age users, modern for teenagers and have few features for power users also.
What I usually do
I am building it from last 40-50 days and have made approx 160 debug build and then reached to 6 release build. I release my latest 6th release build today itself.
Every time When I make changes to my files, I not only test them manually but also test it only 3-4 different brands and android devices. also, i have tested it on few android app testing websites.
I am a new developer or better not to say developer, but I really made it with lot of dedication. My only motive behind making this dialer is, that dialer is the most important app in all devices. and every single call someone makes or get, should be secure and safe. Dialer should not have telemetry, ads, bloat, or heavy size.
Why I am here
Why I am writing this post here and what I want is, guidance, support and honest brutal feedback from you people. Please check my dialer and test or find problems in it, so that I can make it even better. Everyone here is much more sound and practical here at least, so I am asking for your honest feedback for my dialer app.
