I think there is a lot to say about a comfort zone. I have been thinking about how many times I have grown or succeeded by staying at a level I felt comfortable at… I couldn’t think of many.
In the last couple of months, I have been working towards the goal of making myself uncomfortable. I started a new job at an insurance company in Massachusetts. This new position means a different commute, an entirely new industry, and a new skill set that I would have to become familiar with. Leaving my comfort zone sounded like a risk, and it was. What would happen if I didn’t enjoy my new position? No matter how you think of it – once you leave your comfort zone there is no going back. It is a choice you made and a choice you have to stick with.
Looking back, I am proud that I have made this choice because I know many others wouldn’t.
