On 1 September 2026, Anthropic announced Enterprise Frontier Safeguards — EFS from here on — a package that combines zero data retention with automated misuse detection. CNBC reported it on the first; Anthropic's own announcement and the follow-up coverage landed on the second. The monitoring data leaves Anthropic's estate. Activity data used for detection is stored in cloud infrastructure controlled by the customer, not by Anthropic: Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage or Google Cloud Storage, under the customer's own encryption keys and access policies.
