What builders need to know Microsoft launched Microsoft Frontier Company on 2 July 2026 — a new operating business backed by $2.5 billion that embeds roughly 6,000 industry and engineering specialists directly inside customer organisations to design, build and run AI systems, not just advise on them. It's led by Rodrigo Kede Lima, previously President of Microsoft Asia, and was announced by Judson Althoff, CEO of Microsoft's Commercial Business, on the Official Microsoft Blog.
