What Mistral just confirmed A new open-weight model family is coming this summer. Mistral co-founder and CEO Arthur Mensch confirmed it in a post on X, describing the family as "fat indeed, but sparse" — Mistral's own shorthand for a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture with a large total parameter count and a much smaller active-parameter footprint. Early access opens in July 2026 for a restricted set of research, government and industry partners. No public release date, benchmark scores or licence terms have been disclosed.
