What changed On 16 August 2026, Bloomberg reported that Stripe had finalised an agreement to acquire OpenRouter for more than $7bn. Other outlets put the number differently — the New York Times reported $7.5bn, Axios described a deal worth more than $8bn in cash and stock — and none of them are Stripe.
