In a time when AI can write code, generate designs, and automate complex workflows, it’s easy to overlook the most basic needs—
such as converting an image into a PDF.
Yet in real-world work scenarios, these small, unglamorous steps are often what keep things moving.
Every day, countless developers, designers, students, and office workers need to turn screenshots, UI assets, contracts, invoices, or scanned documents into PDFs for sharing or submission. While professional tools like Photoshop or Acrobat can handle this, they are often too heavy and come with a high setup cost.
This is exactly why browser-based, single-purpose file conversion tools still have a place.
Recently, I built a small tool that focuses on doing just one thing well:
converting PNG, JPG, and WebP images into PDFs, while also supporting exporting PDFs back into various image formats.
No accounts, no installations, and no interruptive pop-ups.
Just drag your files in, convert, and download.
Why do tools like this still matter?
Multi-device workflows are the norm
People constantly switch between laptops, phones, and tablets. Online tools remove the friction of installing and configuring software on each device.Restricted environments are still common
In schools, companies, and public computers, installing third-party software is often not allowed. The browser becomes the only viable gateway.Users care more about privacy
Compared to platforms that store files long-term, many users prefer tools that automatically delete files after processing.
My design principles
Instant drag-and-drop uploads
No registration, no tracking
Consistent, high-quality output without unnecessary compression
Files are automatically deleted after one hour
Support for PNG / JPG / WebP ↔ PDF bidirectional conversion
There are no flashy features and no attempts to do more than necessary.
It’s simply a tool that is always available, predictable in behavior, and reliable in results.
If you’re also building developer-friendly or utility-focused products, you’ll likely notice the same thing:
in many cases, simplicity beats complexity.
Not every tool needs AI.
Sometimes, a clean interface and a stable experience are all users really want.
