Introduction
Over the last few months, I've been building Goldify Pro, a digital platform designed for gold investors, jewellers, traders, and businesses.
The original goal sounded simple:
Show accurate live gold prices.
But as I worked on the project, I realized that a complete gold platform requires much more than displaying numbers.
Challenges I Faced
🌍 1. Supporting Multiple Countries
Gold prices vary between countries because of:
Taxes
Import duties
Local market premiums
Currency exchange rates
Instead of supporting only one region, I decided to build support for 100+ countries.
💱 2. Currency Conversion
Gold is traded globally.
Users wanted prices in their local currencies, so I added support for 150+ currencies with automatic conversions.
⚖️ 3. Different Gold Units
People don't buy gold the same way everywhere.
Depending on the country, users needed:
Gram
Kilogram
Ounce
Tola
Masha
Ratti
Supporting regional units became just as important as supporting currencies.
📈 4. Historical Gold Charts
Many users don't just want today's price.
They also want to analyze:
Market trends
Historical performance
Investment timing
Adding historical charts made the platform much more useful.
🧮 5. Professional Calculators
I realized people spend a lot of time searching for different calculators.
So instead of building one calculator, I added tools for:
Gold value calculations
Purity & karat calculations
Weight conversions
Money-to-gold conversions
Jewellery pricing
What I Learned
Building software for a niche industry taught me an important lesson:
People don't want dozens of separate tools—they want one reliable platform that solves their daily workflow.
Listening to user feedback helped shape many of the features available today.
