Be careful with workarounds. Too many times have I seen "oh we'll just add this thing and we'll work around it later" only in a few months time hear "well, we have this thing we can use now". It's not really a bad thing, but it's important to be honest with yourself and your team, and thoughtful about your architecture.
Heads up: As with any terse bit of advice, there will be exceptions of course, and subtleties and nuance that can't possibly be captured in a Byte of Wisdom. This has been what I've experienced, I'd love to hear yours in the comments too!
