Boost Your Workflow: Essential Windows Shortcuts for Productivity

General Shortcuts:

  • Ctrl + C: Copy selected items.
  • Ctrl + X: Cut selected items.
  • Ctrl + V: Paste copied/cut items.
  • Ctrl + Z: Undo the last action.
  • Ctrl + Y: Redo the last undone action.
  • Ctrl + A: Select all items.
  • Ctrl + F: Search for a file or folder.
  • Ctrl + S: Save the current document or file.
  • Ctrl + P: Print the current document.

Window Management:

Alt + Tab: Switch between open applications.
Win + D: Show desktop or minimize/restores all windows.
Win + L: Lock the computer.
Win + Arrow Keys: Snap windows to the left, right, or maximize/minimize.
Alt + F4: Close the active window or shut down a computer.

File Explorer:

Alt + Enter or Alt + Double-click: Open the Properties of the selected file or folder.
Ctrl + Shift + Esc: Open Task Manager.
F2: Rename the selected item.
Ctrl + Shift + N: Create a new folder.

Web Browsing (in browsers):

Ctrl + T: Open a new tab.
Ctrl + W: Close the current tab.
Ctrl + Shift + T: Reopen the last closed tab.
Ctrl + Tab or Ctrl + Shift + Tab: Switch between open tabs.

System Shortcuts:

Win + E: Open File Explorer.
Win + R: Open the Run dialog.
Win + I: Open Settings.
Win + Pause/Break: Open System Properties.
Ctrl + Shift + Esc: Open Task Manager directly.
