I pay for three cloud storage services. Google Drive (work), OneDrive (personal photos), 坚果云 (work archive). Three separate sync clients, three system tray icons, three sets of "where did that file go?" moments.
Last week I consolidated all three into a single drive letter on Windows using ScsDriver. Now X: is everything. Files from any cloud appear there.
This post is how, plus the gotchas.
The setup
Google Drive → WebDAV via rclone serve:
-
rclone config(OAuth dance, ~3 minutes) -
rclone serve webdav gdrive: --addr :8080(runs as a local WebDAV server) - ScsDriver mounts
http://localhost:8080/asX:\Google\
OneDrive → WebDAV via rclone serve:
- Similar:
rclone serve webdav onedrive: --addr :8081 - ScsDriver mounts
http://localhost:8081/asX:\One\
坚果云 → native WebDAV:
- 坚果云 gives every account a built-in WebDAV URL:
https://dav.jianguoyun.com/dav/ - ScsDriver mounts directly as
X:\JIAU\
Result: X:\Google\, X:\One\, X:\JIAU\ are all on the same drive letter. To me, it looks like one filesystem.
Why consolidate
-
One search index — Everything is at
X:\. Windows Search indexes it. I canWin+Sto find anything. -
One backup story — I back up
X:\to my NAS instead of three separate sync states. - No sync conflicts — Each cloud is read-mostly on my desktop, no client fighting for the same file.
- Lower RAM — Three sync clients = 3 GB RAM. One ScsDriver = 200 MB.
Gotchas
- No offline mode. The mount needs connection to the cloud. If your internet drops, you can't read files. Workaround: keep a small local cache of "must have offline" files.
-
First-byte latency for cold files. Google Drive via rclone is ~600 ms cold. Workaround: keep working files in a local folder, archive them to
X:\when done. - Drag-and-drop 1000+ files — sync clients do it in the background; the mount does it real-time. If you copy 1000 files at once, you wait.
- rclone OAuth tokens expire. You'll need to re-auth every ~30 days. Annoying but acceptable.
Performance
Tested on a gigabit uplink, three clouds simultaneously mounted:
| Operation | Time |
|---|---|
| Open cold Google Drive file (5 MB PDF) | 800 ms |
| Open cold OneDrive file (5 MB PDF) | 600 ms |
| Open cold 坚果云 file (5 MB PDF) | 200 ms |
| Search "Q4 report" across all three | 3 sec |
| Backup X:\ to NAS | 6 hours for 800 GB |
The 坚果云 latency is faster because no rclone bridge — direct WebDAV.
Cost comparison
| Cost | |
|---|---|
| Google Drive (200 GB) | $3/mo |
| OneDrive (1 TB) | $7/mo |
| 坚果云 (200 GB) | ¥199/yr (~$28) |
| ScsDriver | $9.99/yr |
| rclone (free bridge) | $0 |
Total: $130/yr + access to 1.4 TB across three clouds, all as one drive letter.
What I'd change
The first-byte latency is the only thing I'd want fixed. For interactive editing on Google Drive files, it's slow. Workaround: pull the file down, edit locally, push back.

- ScsDriver: https://drive.scsoi.com/ (7-day trial, $9.99/yr)
- rclone: https://rclone.org/ (free, open source)
- 坚果云 WebDAV: built into every account
If you pay for multiple cloud storage services, mount them all as one drive letter with ScsDriver. Stop juggling sync clients.
