  • Cookbook Creation: After developing your application, create a detailed cookbook. Follow our contribution guide in Google Colab to complete this task.

• Instill Swag Package: Any participant whose contribution is accepted by Instill AI will earn a swag package, which includes Instill Physical Stickers, and an Instill Bottle or Mug.

• $50 USD Amazon Gift Card: Participants who rank in the TOP FIVE based on points will receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card.

• Social Recognition: Contributors with any accepted contribution will earn social recognition and will be listed on our GitHub Repository.

Ways to Earn Points During Instill AI's Hacktoberfest 2024

Contribution Period

• Dates: October 1st - October 31st, 2024.
• Eligibility: Contributions must be made to a public, unarchived repository.

Points System

Earn points by completing the following tasks:

• Resolve a GitHub Issue: Earn 1 point by resolving an issue from Component Improvements issue list and having the PR successfully merged.
• Develop a New Application: Earn 1 point by developing a new application, documenting it thoroughly, and sharing it on your GitHub repository.
• Create a Cookbook: Earn 1 point by transforming your application documentation into a comprehensive cookbook and having the PR merged into our Cookbook GitHub Repository.

Example: If you develop an application and subsequently create a detailed cookbook for it, you will earn a total of 2 points.

Submission Process

• Submission Form: To ensure your contributions are counted, submit your work using the Hacktoberfest Contribution Form.

Acceptance Criteria

Your contributions will be evaluated based on:

• Completeness: Ensure all suggestions in the PR comments have been addressed.
• Ease of Deployment: Verify that the application is straightforward to use and deploy.
• Simplicity: Confirm that the cookbook is easy to read and understand.

1. Select an Issue:
   • Browse our Component Improvements issue list and select an issue marked hacktoberfest2024.
2. Express Interest:
   • Comment on the selected issue to indicate your interest, which prompts the Instill AI team to assign it to you.
3. Adhere to Guidelines:
   • Follow the specific rules and guidelines outlined in the GitHub issue to ensure your contributions meet the required standards.
4. Engage and Discuss:

5. Submit Your Work:

Prizes and Recognition

• How are winners selected?
  • All Instill AI's Hacktoberfest participants are considered winners. Every participant who successfully submits a verified contribution receives exclusive swag from Instill AI. The top five contributors, based on points, will also receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card.
• How will contributors receive their prizes?
  • After the hackathon concludes, the Instill AI team will reach out via email to arrange prize distribution.
